Love them after break-in

I have three pairs of Asportuguesas. The felt are my favorite but do require a little time to break in because the top lip hits against your ankle in front. This pair seem a littler stiffer and are requiring more time wearing with socks, which means they may be warmer, too. They will be incredibly comfortable in the long run. Nothing else (Birkenstocks, etc) even come close.

Review of AsPortugueses shoes/slippers

I love these felt shoes from Portugal! They are as comfortable as the Haflingers I have worn for many years. The only thing I and to change was the top part that comes out over the top of the foot. It is way too pronounced and was uncomfortable, so I just took them to my local shoe maker and he snipped them back so they are now very similar in style to Haflingers. I believe the sole on these Portugueses will last a lot longer than the cork sole on the Haflingers. Excellent shoe for indoors or outdoors!

Great shoes!

I purchased these shoes at the recommendation of several friends.



I wear 8/8.5 in US sizing, depending on toe box width. Since these have a wide toe box, the 38 was perfect.



The instep was tight initially and I couldn’t slide my foot in completely, but I folded the “tongue” back and wore them around the house that way for a few days. That worked perfectly to loosen/soften the upper.



The color is a “faded”, neutral red - true to the photos.

I have ordered 3 pairs of slippers. I'm extremely pleased. I accidentally got the wrong size. I decided to keep 2 pair that I purchased and give one to my sister inlaw. She loves the slippers. Highly recommend German slippers. They are built so well. They last forever too. Thanks, Anna Granger

I love these slippers! They fit true to size and are so comfortable. They are fashionable enough for me to wear them out for quick errands. Ordering from German slippers was a great experience, they came faster than I thought from Germany to USA.

Fantastic unisex indoor/outdoor slippers

My husband and I both have pairs of these, and really appreciate the thick, comfortable soles AND great arch support. The soles are sturdy enough for the occasional dash down the driveway, and unlike other boiled wool slippers, the inside of the toe is reinforced, so - fingers crossed - our toes won't wear a hole through in time.
