We are constantly thinking up new extraordinary slippers and insoles. With the Tundra model, for once, we held back a little and concentrated on the essentials: uncomplicated felt slippers made from pure natural materials. Produced sustainably, fairly and plastic-free.
Where are the slippers made?
The Tundra model comes from a factory run by women in Kyrgyzstan. With your purchase you support the felt artists who make the shoes for us and receive a fair wage far above the standards of the developing country. The wool used also comes from small shepherds in the region, who still keep their sheep in the traditional way almost all year round. Due to the harsh conditions of the Kyrgyz highlands, particularly robust felt can be made from the wool.
Material properties:
Real felt provides excellent insulation against the cold without making the slippers too hot, as wool offers a natural temperature balance. After prolonged wear, heat and moisture are absorbed and quickly released to the outside, so that a pleasant climate is maintained at all times.
The sewn-on outsole is made of goatskin and is tanned entirely without chemicals. Although leather is very robust and guarantees a long service life, it is still very light and flexible in order to enable the most unhindered, natural movement possible.
Differences to the WoolFit® Classic model:
In contrast to the Classic, the Tundra model is also handmade, but the wool itself is not felted in one piece by hand, but by machine. In addition, the felt itself is a bit softer and more flexible.
